Dates: July 5 - 11

Lesson timetable: 11:00 - 14:00 (total of 21 hours)

* This seminar is full. A waiting list is available.

Rebetiko folk orchestra began as a rudimentary ensemble consisting of 3 instruments: bouzouki, guitar and baglamas. The evolution of popular music also gave a role to other instruments that enriched its sound. Initially, the bouzoukis became 2 thus expanding the harmony, almost at the same time the accordion entered and shared the solo part with the bouzoukis. As the years go by, double basses, pianos, violins and drums take to the stage, covering larger spaces with the new sound, since folk music left the taverns, leaving in its place the electrophones that played the 45s with the new popular hits for a drachma. How a composition from its conception with an instrument to its recording with a set of instruments becomes a musical work, we will see in this workshop, which refers to all instruments.

* This lesson will be taught only in Greek.

Interpretation will not be provided.
