Dates: July 7 - 13
Lesson timetable: 17:00 - 20:00 (total of 21 hours)

Seminar topics:

Day 1: Musicians psychology, frequencies that effect the human body. Everything is vibrations. A musicians dream and how to persue them.
Day 2: Getting to know the fretboard and exercises for the right and left hand and how to connect our thoughts with notes.
Day 3: Modes and scales and how to harmonize in different kinds of music (blues, jazz and greek folk music).
Day 4: Development  of modal music. How are all kinds of music connected.
Day 5: Improvising on different styles and how to think. What to do and what to avoid.
Day 6: Small groups of two three or more guitars that will occur during the seminar and orchestration on songs that will be chosen by the teacher.
Day 7: Technology and how to make the best sound with a small budget. Parameters that make a good sound on the acoustic, electric and fretless guitar.

* This lesson will be taught both in Greek and English.


Biography
Dimitris Lappas was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1973. His first contact with the stage was at the age of 9 in Australia playing the bouzouki. At the age of 11, he moved to the city of Thessaloniki, where he continued to play music until he was 16. He then moved to Brussels to attend guitar lessons and in 1997 he was in Sofia where he collaborated with Ilias Klonaridis and the Alternative Bulgarian Orchestra.

His great love for music and thirst for the exploration of "folk music" and the makams, led him to Istanbul where he lived for 4 years starting collaborations with musicians of the City. Some of them were with the Turkish Cypriot singer Ziynet Sali, the music group Café Aman İstanbul, the orchestras of the state television TRT1 and TRT2, the clarinet soloist Vassilis Saleas as well as the A la Turka Pop Star Orchestra, giving concerts all over Turkey.

He has long-term and stable collaborations with renowned composers, lyricists, musicians and singers such as Vassili Lekka, Eleni Vitali, George Dalara, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Sotiria Leonardou, Nikos Dimitratos, Petros Dourdoubakis, Panteli Thalassino, Arleta, Lefteri Papadopoulos, Dimitri Starova, Mimi Plessa, Haris Alexiou, Nikos Papazoglou, Sokrati Malama, Lizeta Kalimeri, Melina Kana, Gianni Haroulis, Ferhat Gocer, Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Thanasis Papakonstantinou, Rock Opera Alexander, Gerasimos Andreato, Apostolos Rizo, Maki Seviloglou, Costa Anastasiadis, Gioti Kiourtsoglou, Tricolore, etc. …

He has written music for theater performances and composed musical works such as Trilogy, Lapino, Bouzouki Swing, etc. He has taught in seminars as a soloist that mainly dealt with topics such as the approach of improvisation on the streets and "urban folk music", in Geni Jami, at the World Congress of Scientists in Ayvali in 2010, in France at the Terminus brasserie etc. He is the founder of the music group LAPINO PROJECT (a mixture of jazz, funk, fusion with an oriental approach).

He counts over 5,500 appearances in live, television and radio performances worldwide, as well as in his discography as a musician, composer, producer and arranger.
