Workshops: Musical Fireplaces 2026

Born in Rhodes in 1995, he first gained contact with Byzantine music at the age of four, on a practical and experiential level. This path was completed in 2014, when he obtained the Diploma in Byzantine Music in Patras, at the age of nineteen. At the same time, his involvement with the Cretan lyre and the Dodecanese lute constituted a fundamental stage in his musical formation, essentially preparing his subsequent transition to the traditional violin, which he established as his main expressive instrument.

From 2013 to 2019, he completed his studies at the TEI of Epirus, at the School of Artistic Studies (former Department of Folk and Traditional Music) in Arta, specializing in violin. During his studies, in 2015, he taught the Cretan lyra at the Public Music School of Arta for one academic year. In 2017, he settled in Thessaloniki, where he co-founded the musical ensemble Alaturka, an ensemble consisting of two violins, two percussion instruments and a double bass, with a strong orientation towards tropical and intercultural soundscapes. During the same period, in collaboration with the En Chordais Conservatory, he undertook the teaching of music pre-education to children aged 3–6 for two years.

In 2020, in collaboration with Lefteris Navrozidis, he founded the experiential music workshop Echotropia, which focuses on the practical approach and in-depth understanding of modality in repertoires of mainly oriental musical traditions. At the same time, in 2022 he completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Macedonia, in the program "Early Music and Tropical Musics of the Mediterranean". Since 2023 he has been teaching at the "Petros Peloponnese" Association in Katerini, where he is the artistic director of the choir and orchestra. In addition, he participates as a lecturer in the "Vatousa" music seminars in Lesvos, teaching violin.

He has an active artistic presence in Greece and abroad and has collaborated with important artists and creators, including Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Loxandra, Dilek Koc, Martha Mavroidis, Stratis Psaradellis, Dimitris Zervoudakis, Michalis Haniotis, Thomas Korovinis, Babis Tsertos, Giorgos Michail, Fotis Siotas, Manolis Pappos, Fotis Vergopoulos, Dimitris Sintos, Apostolos Tsardakas, Taxiarchis Georgoulis, Giorgos Psaltis, Vangelis Karipis Dimitris Panagoulias, Phoebus Apostolidis, Elias Mantikos, Yiannis Poulios, Kostas Matsigos, etc.

He participated in the theatrical production of the National Theatre of Northern Greece “Peace Again”, directed by Christos Stanisis, as well as in the musical theater workshop “The Melpomene Cycle” directed by Anneta Kortsaridou. He is a member of the musical projects “Hearings” by Giorgos Psaltis and “Nowruz” by Lefteris Navrozidis, as well as the band “Heliodromio”, while he is a founding member of the group “Dodecanese Choria”.

In recent years, he has also turned with particular interest to sound engineering, studying alongside Christos Megas, a key collaborator of Nikos Papazoglou.
