Lesson timetable (total of 12 hours)
21/2 and 22/2 16:00 - 20:00
23/2 10:00 - 14:00
The seminar is aimed at musicians who play the kanun or another instrument and are interested in approaching Greek and Turkish musical idioms through their instrument and voice.
Particular emphasis will be placed on self-accompaniment: we will work with songs and instrumental pieces, with the aim of each participant being able to support their voice or melody with their instrument and try out different roles within the ensemble.
We will not focus so much on the technical performance of the instrument, but on how we can feel and support the music through rhythm, phrasing and our function within the ensemble.
This seminar will primarily be taught in Greek. Full interpratation will not be provided.
